28-year old Martha Wainwright is the daughter of folk legends Loudon Wainwright and Kate McGarrigle, and the sister of acclaimed singer- songwriter Rufus Wainwright. Martha was born in New York and grew up in Montreal with her mother and brother.
After leaving college early, Martha moved to New York and distinguished herself almost immediately, developing a devoted following within the New York singer-songwriter scene. What is very striking about Martha, is her strong sense of individuality as well as her emotional and lyrical directness. She is undoubtedly her own person, with her own sense of style, creating her own kind of music with an extraordinarily versatile and compelling voice. Her sound is wonderfully varied and meshes elements of rock, folk, country and chanson singing.
“...Accompanied by sparse, semi-acoustic instrumentation, she sings in a hauntingly pure voice that swoops and shimmers...her voice, and the honesty of her songwriting make her special." - The Daily Telegraph
“'Is this some sort of incubating peeeeeer-iod, for when I really come around?', she sings on her debut EP, and boy, does the line give you goose flesh. Partly because of the break in her barbed-wire voice, partly because you know that, at 29, this singer had bided her time, made herself ready, and now she's coming to get you... 2005 is her year all right." - The Independent on Sunday

“One minute we're emo, one minute we're punk, the next minute we're tykes, then rock, metal, and today we've read reviews where they've said jazz and Britpop. It fucking scares the shit out of people if they can't label it immediately."
"...an impressive balance between the band's trademark diversity (those odd time changes, the disregard for genre boundaries), coherence and a long-overdue introduction to the band we always knew they could be!" 8/10 - Rock Sound

Redjetson are a six-piece, spread over the less glamorous parts of London and the near beyond (Billericay). Having honed their sound for the past 18 months, ‘New General Catalogue’ is their debut album, named after the book that maps the stars.
Redjetson deal with epic songs full of slow-burning grandeur, emotional intensity and imposing passion. Despite their glacial exterior, their tunes are infused with a deep warmth and beating heart, moving away from the constrictive forms of ‘post rock’, and into warmer, more soulful climbs.
"Blissful" - NME
“...Redjetson are a massive force to be reckoned with - theirs is a sound built on searing guitars, soaring vocals and cathartic rhythms, all played with ear shattering, heart breaking volume and pathos...this is a masterpiece of invention and interest." - Kerrang!
